Office of Treasurer
The Office of Treasurer is an elected office that has been combined with the function of tax collector. The treasurer is responsible for the cash management, investment, and safekeeping of all funds in the county treasury.

Tax Collector
The tax collector function involves responsibility for the billing, collection, and accounting for all personal and real property taxes levied in the county. Further, the tax collector collects taxes on mobile homes, business license fees in unincorporated area, transient occupancy tax, and various other taxes and special assessments.

Centralized Collections Division
Responsibilities of the Centralized Collections Division include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Court Ordered Fines
  • Juvenile Hall Fees
  • Library Fines
  • Parking
  • Probation Fees
  • Public Defender Fees
  • Restitution and Delinquent Traffic Citations

Passport Check List
Every applicant must appear in person and have the following:

  • Passport Form DS11-Filled Out-Signed in the prescese of the Passport Agency
  • One Passport Picture                   (Locally: Lesley Froggatt or Rite Aid Drug Store)
  • Certified Copy of Birth Certificate or Previous Passport
  • Photo Identification - (Ex: Drivers License) Both parents must present ID for under 16, one parent over 16.
  • Check or Money Order to: U.S. Department of State. $110.00 per passport.
  • Minor under age 16  $80.00 per passport - Must be check or money order
  • Check, Money Order or Cash: Plumas County Treasurer. $25.00 per passport

To Expedite:  USPS Flat Rate Envelope with Attached $18.95 Postage (Pickup Prior)
                     US Department of States Fee $182.72 per passport
                     Plumas County Treasurer Fee $25.00 per passport

US Passport Card: Can be used for Mexico, Canada, Caribbean and Bermuda (Not for Air Travel)
                     Adults - $30.00     Minors - $15.00     Plumas County Treasurer - $25.00
