UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK

Every UST contains hazardous substances.  The most common hazardous materials stored in Underground Storage Tanks (UST) are gasoline and diesel.  The goal of the UST Program is to protect public health, safety and the environment through the protection of groundwater and surrounding soils.  The California Health and Safety Code and the California Code of Regulations, require annual UST facility inspection, tank permitting and monitoring, and guidelines for the installation and removal of tanks.
